So I have been thinking a lot, but doing very little, about the state of our country. While doing all my thinking and actively participating in being a parent I noticed a similarity in what is being asked for.

My kids are always saying "I want what he/she has", "Do I have as much as he/she has", and my favorite "that's not fair!".

It would likewise seem, from the direction Washington seems to pushing, that many (although I would argue that "many" is much fewer than Washington would have us believe) in America feel the same way my kids do only they express it differently. Simply put we are moving ever so closely to the child like utopia that is socialism.

I recently received an email, whether true or not, that describes very simply why socialism does not work.

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class..
--------------------------------------------
That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK,
we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan".

All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy..

As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.
The scores never increased as bickering,
blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

Could not be any simpler than that.

Now if only I could gets my kids to understand this!

Well the result was not what we were hoping for but the food sure was great! Thank you to the wonderful women ho elves in the kitchen to put on such a memorable spread.

As far as an analysis of the game I think I am still to emotionally attached to be of any value. I will stick with my half time comment regarding a poor se of calls that gave the Saints the ball and ultimately 3 points. If I had to blame the loss on any one situation it was that 3-and-out.

Oh, well there is always next year, right? Until the leave your condolences, I mean comments, and enjoy the pictures, click on the photo above to view our photos.

Congratulations to the Super Bowl Champion Saints, you played a great game.

Just a few more thoughts, I normally do not get so emotionally involved in these types of things. Don’t get me wrong I love sports, especially football, but I can generally separate my reality from the games. This time I did not and I attribute it to the fact that I was trash talking. Therefore the defeat stings a little more as I have some personal statements made to others that I can no longer back up. OUCH!

And one last thing you may wish to comment on, what does the losing team (more specifically those that produced the stuff) do with all the merchandize that says they are the champions?
The Colts are playing well and Payton and the guys are going to be able to take this one all the way!

GO COLTS!!!!

That is right, with Mom looking to change a few things and the Colts looking to take number 2 in four years I am back.

Mom is downstairs as I write preparing some great eats while the kids are playing nicely allowing me to write. After all the hype of the Saints being in the big game and their need to win in order to celebrate a great city and reward them for all they went threw it is finally time to play the game.

The Colts have been quite all week and are looking to play their minds out and leave their mark on the filed.

I cannot wait to eat the good food and watch a game that should be great!

GO COLTS!!!
